He died about 1853 in TALLAPOOSA COUNTY, ALABAMA, USA.92 was born Abt. 1830 in Laurens County, South Carolina258, and died Abt. 1853 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. He married Elizabeth Johnson December 24, 1848 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama by Thomas Laudery, J.P.259, daughter of Steven Johnson and Elizabeth.

MARTIN CLOPTON and ELIZABETH JOHNSON93 were married on 24 December 1848 in TALLAPOOSA COUNTY, ALABAMA, USA.89,94 ELIZABETH JOHNSON was born about 1823 in GEORGIA, USA. Previously married to a man named Bates. Must have married Bates about
1843 as son James is seven years old in the 1850 Tallapoosa county,
Alabama census. Divorced or seperated from the man named Bates and
marries Martin Clopton.
Elizabeth moved to Texas in 1853 or 1854 with her children James Bates,
Green Clopton and Hugh Clopton along with her parents Steven and Elizabeth
Johnson. Elizabeth married John C. Corner in 1855 in Walker county,
Texas. I find John and Elizabeth Corner in the 1860 census of Grimes
County, Texas taken on 13 August 1860. Children listed are L(can's make
out) male 14, Evan male 11, Huah (Hugh) male 7 (corresponds with birth
date of March 10, 1853), Terge female 11, James Bates male 17.
I find no record of Green Clopton in Texas, he must have died as an
infant.
